The interactive s/w application presented here, has been designed and developed under the 4th work package of ACCESS project. Aim of the package is to support the optimal design of solar – biomass systems by providing s/w calculation tools for the assessment of technical and economical aspects of such systems. Users familiar with the subject can start using the application right away, while others are advised to follow the theoretical treatment of the subjects and/or topics of interest, in order to familiarize themselves with the factors involved in the analysis.

 

The application is structured into separate successive steps where the output of one step is used by its successor. This structure facilitates the users to perform a complete case study analysis following a ‘wizard' approach. It facilitates also the separate calculation of selected values ignoring the successive steps that are not necessary.

 

The audience of this application comprises engineers, technicians promoters and decision makers interested in solar energy and biomass applications in the building sector. Aim of the application is to avoid the complex and detailed simulation of heating systems which may be performed by specialized s/w systems, without compromising on the level of accuracy and required engineering detail.
